Changelog

What changed in the API, the MCP server and these docs.

Changes to the API, the MCP server and this documentation, newest first. Within v1, fields are only added; anything that would remove or rename one waits for v2.

2026-10-07 · any ticker, stock facts, and the screener's three numbers on every scan row

  • Pattern, history and chart calls answer for any ticker the nightly covers, tracked or not; ticker_not_tracked is no longer returned. History still returns the last five occurrences per ticker.
  • Scan rows add win_rate_pct and win_rate_trades, the win rate the screener shows on each setup, beside expected_gain_pct (Typical return, as the screener labels it) and distance_to_trigger_pct.
  • Pattern answers and the chart tool add stock_facts: the ticker's facts as the screener's quick view shows them (price, performance, EMAs, RSI, moving averages, volume, volatility, company), as label and value rows. The chart card draws them as a table under the chart.
  • The chart link leaves what the model reads: the get_pattern_chart and demo results carry it in their _meta as io.tradingpal/chart_url, for code and app cards, instead of in the text or as chart_url in structuredContent. page_url is the link to give a person.

2026-10-05 · Premium+ billed yearly

  • Premium+ costs $30/month, or $300/year (17% off). Both carry the same access.
  • A Premium member switches to Premium+ in place: the switch takes effect at once, the unused part of what was already paid is credited, and only the difference for the time left is charged, the same day. The renewal date stays when the billing interval stays; a move to yearly billing starts the year that day. The Quickstart shows the amount due before you confirm.
  • A member billed yearly is offered the yearly Premium+, so a paid year never turns into monthly bills.
  • A first subscription starts with 14 days free, on Premium+ as on Premium. A member on the trial who switches to Premium+ keeps the trial and is first billed when it ends.
  • A downgrade takes effect at the end of the paid period, with no refund; you keep what you paid for until then.

2026-10-03 · the scan, Premium+, 200 tickers

  • GET /scan and the get_scan MCP tool: every forming or in-progress setup across the whole market, ranked as the screener ranks it, with rank, expected_gain_pct and distance_to_trigger_pct on each row; narrow by family, direction, status and distance to the trigger, or run your own screen with filters, the same filter list the TradingPal screener takes.
  • Premium+: $30 a month, all of the benefits in Premium plus API and MCP access; the only plan with API and MCP access. Keys and sign-ins on other accounts get forbidden with a fix pointing at the Quickstart.
  • Tracked tickers: 200 per account, the same limit as the watchlist on the site.
  • PATCH /tickers adds and removes tickers without touching the rest, and the MCP server gains add_tickers and remove_tickers, so an agent changes the list from the conversation ("track NVDA", "stop tracking TSLA").
  • GET /tickers/{symbol}/history returns the last five occurrences (the receipts behind the ticker track record), not the full ledger; limit is now 1 to 5.
  • GET /me reports plan: api (or staff).

2026-09-30 · v1 beta

  • REST API at https://api.tradingpal.io/api/v1: /me, /tickers (read and replace), /tickers/{symbol}/patterns, /tickers/{symbol}/history, /tickers/{symbol}/chart.png, /families, /families/{family}/stats, /universe.
  • Keyless routes: /demo, /demo/{symbol}, /demo/{symbol}/chart.png for a fixed set of large caps; /families, /families/{family}/stats and /universe answer without a key.
  • MCP server at https://api.tradingpal.io/mcp: Streamable HTTP, seven tools, connects without a key.
  • Self-serve keys on API Keys, shown once, revocable.
  • Agent files: https://api.tradingpal.io/api/v1/llms.txt, https://api.tradingpal.io/api/v1/skill.md, https://api.tradingpal.io/api/v1/openapi.json, and every page of this documentation as .md.
  • Limits: 60 requests a minute and 10,000 a day per key; 30 a minute per IP without a key; 50 tracked tickers per account.
